TNT-Textures
and New Techniques by Hoopsisters is one of the newest
trends in quilting that utilizes the machine’s
professional embroidery features. All embroidery machines
are welcome. Join the fun and learn these new quilt
techniques using the embroidery machine. An embroidery
machine is a must. A minimum of a 5” x 7” hoop
capability.
Ten 2-hour
classes.

Serger
Workbook

The Serger Workbook
class will help you better understand tension settings,
stitch width, stitch length, differential feed and various
types of stitches. Applications, such as turning corners,
serging curves, and securing seams will be included. This
workbook will contain different fabrics and settings that
serve as a reference for future projects.
Prerequisite need
to know threading of serger and serger must be in good
working order!

cleaning & check-up for your serger - call our service
center at 817/460-4992. Please allow at least a week
for service.
One 3-hour class

Pocket
Full of Rulers

A tote bag designed
to carry rulers, mats and more. Finished size is 21? x
26?. A good project to use some of those wonderful ?leftovers?.
The pockets can be made with fat quarters and the strips
on the bag can be made with fat eighths. Plan taking those
many rulers to class in style without juggling rulers or
chipping corners. Storing them at home will also become
easier and save space.
One 3-hour class.

Holiday
Tote

Construct a large
tote bag using one of the Holiday Tote Bag patterns (Snowman,
Carolers). Machine appliqué techniques for applying
a choice of appliqué pieces to the outside bag front/back/sides
along with embellishments and decorative stitching to make
it unique. Construction of the bag using double sided quilted
fabric or canvas, outside and inside pockets and handle
to complete this fun project. GO! Cutter fabric dies will
be available at class for attendees to cut some appliqué pieces.
Patterns will
be available for purchase when registering.

using one of the Arabes que licensed dies by Ricky
Tims. Techniques of applying fusible web, use of
the Go! Fabric Cutter, and appliqué stitches

Sewing - Skirt

layout, cutting of pattern pieces and general understanding
of preparation to sew an A-line skirt using the
Easy Sewing "The Kwik-Sew Way" pattern
book, which is available at ASMS. Explanation of
different seam sewing, elastic casing, hem finishing
options, and demonstrations of adding appliqué or
decorative stitching to enhance the look of the
skirt. A basic serger will be available to use
for seam finishing and rolled hem options.

using a unique method of piecing the blocks on preprinted
foundation papers. Those who already have tried foundation
piecing will find this method different and intriguing. Those

are gorgeous.

course featuring basics of color; preparation of fabric; fundamentals
of accurate measuring, cutting and piecing fabric sets for
squares, half squares and quarter square triangles to make
into nine patch squares, connector blocks, and hour glass
blocks; and the application of these forms in designing a
simple but appealing patchwork quilt.
